Stockwell Elastomerics Status – COVID-19
Statement to Customers and Suppliers about Stockwell Elastomerics Status Re: COVID-19
Updated: December 11, 2020
We are excited that the expedited vaccine development appears to have delivered a number of exceptional candidates that will begin rolling out in the US before December comes to a close. While the news is exciting and positive, we continue to remain vigilant to our COVID-19 protocols. With the recent surge in the Philadelphia region (and the world), we have re-focused our efforts to keep our employees healthy while continuing to meet critical customer needs. We closely monitor the news about COVID-19 and the associated guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), state and local governments as recommendations have been evolving.
Stockwell Elastomerics has operated continuously throughout the pandemic. Initially, as a life sustaining business, our focus was to provide immediate support to manufacturers of respirators, airflow and ventilation equipment, blood analyzers, analytical instrumentation, and related medical equipment and devices critically needed by those battling COVID-19 on a daily basis.
The health of our employees is a top priority and we have moved through various operational scenarios to keep everyone healthy and safe. We returned to full production staffing levels at the end of May and, by the end of June, most of our office personnel had returned to work in the office. We implemented workplace protocols that exceed (in most cases) those issued by the state and federal experts. These precautions minimize the risk of virus transmission as well as the potential for work disruption. Like many companies, we have experienced (and worked through) our share of direct brushes with the virus. We will maintain the focus on our protocols as we move through the current surge and look forward to lower numbers as we move into 2021.
The demand for COVID-19 related components has continued as the country experiences regional challenges with surging virus infections. We have increased operational staffing levels to support efforts to meet the COVID-19 demand and work on reducing the backlog of open orders that trended up as we focused on COVID-19 needs. We appreciate the continued patience of our customers as we work toward returning to the normal service levels you have come to expect. Please continue to contact us with urgent needs.
We are proud that we have had the opportunity to support those customers who are directly involved with the COVID-19 battle. Some of these are highlighted in a recent post on the Elastomerics Blog: COVID-19 Response – Manufacturing Efforts by Stockwell Elastomerics. They will continue to be a high priority. Stockwell Elastomerics’ strategic vendor partners are aligned with us in our support for COVID-19 applications and they have responded positively to urgent materials needs.
Please continue to connect with our technical sales, application engineers and customer service personnel as needed for your routine and development needs. Our teams have maintained a high level of responsiveness and support by maximizing the use of email, phone and video conferencing.
As schools, cities and workplaces across the country and world work through this surge, we expect the situation will evolve rapidly. We will keep you updated as circumstances change. Once again, we want to thank you for providing us with the opportunity to serve you!
