Stockwell Elastomerics Status – COVID-19
Statement to Customers and Suppliers about Stockwell Elastomerics Status Re: COVID-19
Updated: April 16, 2020
We continue to monitor closely the news about COVID-19 as well as guidance from the CDC, state and local governments. On March 19, the Governor of Pennsylvania declared the closure of all businesses that are non-life sustaining. Our position as a Plastics and Rubber Products Manufacturer enabled us to remain open. It is our position that we must remain open to service our customer base that includes many in the healthcare equipment industry. Over the last 3 to 4 weeks, our focus has been to provide immediate support to manufacturers of respirators, airflow and ventilation equipment, blood analyzers, analytical instrumentation, and related medical equipment and devices critically needed by those battling COVID-19. This focus requires significant operational and technical resources and has had a negative effect on the lead times for new and existing (non-life sustaining) customer orders. Please be patient and contact us with urgent needs.
Since the outset of this pandemic, a key focus has been protecting our 91 employees from the risks resulting from the spread of COVID-19. Many of our office employees work remotely and will continue this until the risk of community spread subsides. However, we are a manufacturing business and our production work must be performed on-site. Initially, we reduced our production staff and implemented practices consistent with CDC guidelines for safe operation. These practices, combined with a transition to a 7-day work schedule, have allowed us to return our full operational workforce.
We are in daily contact with our strategic vendors. All continue to be operational. They have been working with us to prioritize and expedite the production of COVID-19 related materials.
Our sales and applications teams are maximizing use of email, phone and video conferencing to support existing and COVID-related development activity. Additionally, we have instituted a no visitor policy for vendors and non-essential visitors until the risk has passed.
Please be assured that we remain committed to providing the level of service to which our customers have become accustomed. We have made investments in our infrastructure to allow our staff to remain in contact with our customers and material vendors virtually.
The situation continues to evolve and we will keep you updated as circumstances change. Once again, we want to thank you for providing us with the opportunity to serve you!
