We continue to monitor closely the news about COVID-19 and the associated guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), state and local governments. Stockwell Elastomerics has operated continuously throughout the pandemic. Initially, as a life sustaining business, our focus was to provide immediate support to manufacturers of respirators, airflow and ventilation equipment, blood analyzers, analytical instrumentation, and related medical equipment and devices critically needed by those battling COVID-19 on a daily basis.
The health of our employees has been a top priority and we have moved through various operational scenarios to keep everyone healthy and safe. We returned to full production staffing levels at the end of May and, by the end of June, most of our office personnel had returned to work. We implemented workplace protocols that exceed (in most cases) those issued by the state and federal experts. These precautions minimize the risk of transmission as well as the potential for work disruption.
The demand for COVID-19 related components has continued as the country experiences regional challenges with surging virus infections. We have increased operational staffing levels to support efforts to meet the COVID-19 demand and work on reducing the backlog of open orders that trended up as we focused on COVID needs. We ask for your continued patience as we work toward returning to the service levels that you have come to expect. Please continue to contact us with urgent needs.
