Stockwell Elastomerics Status – COVID-19

Statement to Customers and Suppliers about Stockwell Elastomerics Status Re: COVID-19

March 30, 2020

We continue to closely monitor the news about COVID-19 as well as guidance from the CDC and state and local governments. On March 19, the Governor of Pennsylvania declared the closure of all businesses that are non-life sustaining. Thankfully Plastics and Rubber Products Manufacturers are permitted to remain open. It is our position that we must remain open to service our customer base which includes manufacturers of respirators, airflow and ventilation equipment, blood analyzers, analytical instrumentation, and medical equipment and devices that sustain EMT, Fire and Rescue. In the past 7 to 10 days, our focus has often shifted to serve customers directly supporting our vital healthcare industry. This focus requires significant operational and technical resources and is impacting lead times for new and existing (non-life sustaining) customer orders. Please be patient, but let us know what you need.

Our focus is on protecting our 91 employees from risk resulting from the spread of COVID-19. We now have the majority of office employees working remotely, whenever possible, until the risk of community spread subsides. However, we are a manufacturing business and our production work must be performed on-site. We reduced our production staff after assessing which of our staff would make up a crew to handle the most urgent customer requirements.

We have been in daily contact with our strategic vendors. All have indicated they are operational and we continue to receive shipments.

We have asked sales employees to use email, phone or conference calls in lieu of face-to-face meetings in order to minimize the risk of community spread. Additionally we have instituted a no visitor policy for vendors and non-essential visitors until the risk has passed.

Please be assured that we remain committed to providing the level of service to which our customers have become accustomed. We have made investments in our infrastructure to allow our team members to remain in contact with our customers and material vendors virtually.

That being said, the situation continues to evolve, and we will keep you notified if circumstances change. Once again, we want to thank you for providing us with the opportunity to serve you!
